A 3Dflow Case Study
Zerolab Design Studio, a design studio, needed to accurately and efficiently monitor the volume increase of material in a large quarry near Milan, a task previously done with slower GPS topographic methods. They partnered with 3Dflow and utilized its 3DF Zephyr Aerial photogrammetry software to process data collected by a UAV for a more advanced solution.
The solution from 3Dflow involved processing over 1,000 high-resolution UAV images in 3DF Zephyr to create highly accurate, georeferenced 3D models of the quarry. This process, which achieved a final mean residual of just 0.028 meters on control points, enabled the studio to precisely calculate volume changes between surveys. For 3Dflow, this provided a repeatable and efficient method to monitor the quarry's material volume, replacing the older, less efficient technique.
