A 3Dflow Case Study
The customer, Microgeo, an Italian topography and geomatics provider, faced the challenge of integrating multiple survey methods—ground pictures, aerial photographs, and a laser scan—to create a comprehensive 3D model of a church in Calenzano, Italy. They employed 3Dflow's photogrammetry software, 3DF Zephyr Aerial, to merge these disparate data sources into a single, accurate reconstruction.
3Dflow's solution allowed Microgeo to process the datasets within 3DF Zephyr, using 12 high-accuracy ground control points to precisely align the photogrammetric and laser scan workspaces. The final result was a detailed, textured 3D mesh that successfully combined the data, demonstrating 3Dflow's powerful capability to unify different survey technologies for a superior output. The project was also used as the highlight feature video for the software's 4.0 release.
