McDonald’s modernizes legacy CCTV with 3dEYE and remote cloud access across multiple locations

McDonald's, a major fast-food franchise, had several locations in Maryland operating with outdated analog CCTV systems that recorded in JPEG format and were hampered by extremely limited bandwidth. These legacy systems provided no remote access, making it difficult to manage security across multiple stores. McDonald's needed a modern solution from vendor 3dEYE that could integrate with their old DVRs while providing reliable cloud storage and motion-triggered recording.

3dEYE implemented its cloud surveillance service, connecting the existing cameras to 3dEYE Cloud. The solution successfully converted the video streams into h.264 format, enabling secure, offsite storage on Amazon S3 servers and remote access via browsers, tablets, and mobile devices. This gave McDonald's full remote control to manage all locations from a single interface, with features like motion alerts outside business hours and email notifications. The scalable 3dEYE system provided a more reliable and easily manageable security infrastructure for the growing franchise.
