Eckart Hydraulik, a family-owned hydraulic technology company in Schlüchtern, Germany, wanted a better way to measure machine availability and uncover downtime causes without relying on manual data collection. 3d Signals installed sensors and an IoT edge device in two production areas, giving Eckart Hydraulik real-time visibility into machine status and idle-time reasons through its dView cloud software. After four months, average machine availability rose from 38% in November 2020 to 49% in February 2021, an almost 30% productivity increase, with Hall 4 improving from 27% to 48% and Hall 5 from 42% to 49%.
