TRL, working on the Smart Mobility Living Lab project, needed a collaborative platform to host and coordinate 3D models of London test sites for understanding future mobility needs. Their challenge was to enable on-demand data access and seamless collaboration among multiple stakeholders. They selected the 3D Repo cloud-based digital construction platform to meet these requirements.

3D Repo provided a single source of truth for the project, allowing all stakeholders to access and work from the most up-to-date models through a web browser. The solution enabled the creation of a detailed digital twin of the urban environment, which was used for advanced simulations and real-world scenario planning. This provided TRL with the necessary data to prove that connected and automated vehicles can operate safely and efficiently on open roads.
