Using 3D Printers to help manufacture high efficiency windows

Ridoret Group, a La Rochelle, France joinery firm founded in 1938, designs and manufactures high‑efficiency, positive‑energy triple‑glazed windows. Faced with the need to produce multiple small, durable joining pieces for these windows—previously made by costly injection molds (five molds totaling about €150,000)—the company also needed faster prototyping and quicker after‑sales part response without increasing capital outlay.

Ridoret integrated large‑format 3D printing (1 m² build platform) into production, partnering with Delta Equipment and using ASA for moisture‑ and UV‑resistant parts. With two printers they now produce up to 350 pieces per batch and project about 120,000 parts annually, eliminating mold costs, shortening prototyping and manufacturing times, improving after‑sales responsiveness, and freeing resources for further R&D.
