Case Study: 3D Printing Tech achieves 8‑day production of 12‑ft Coca‑Cola bottle molds for College GameDay with 3D Platform

A 3D Platform Case Study

Preview of the 3D Printing Tech Case Study

Sweetening Saturday morning football with super-sized Coca-Cola bottles

3D Printing Tech, an Atlanta-based provider of 3D printing, scanning, modeling and consulting services, was hired by MELT and Coca‑Cola to produce oversized promotional props for ESPN’s College GameDay: a 12‑foot Coca‑Cola bottle (displaying roughly half the bottle) that had to be durable, transportable from week to week, and delivered within a tight four‑week window before the first broadcast.

3D Printing Tech used a 3D Platform 300 Series large‑format printer to produce a six‑piece, 12‑foot mold for fiberglass construction and a quarter‑scale mock‑up for wrap approval. The large‑format, open‑market printer let them control print settings and materials for speed and quality, completing the prints in eight days—far faster than desktop alternatives—and meeting the deadline while significantly reducing production time and improving ROI.
