CX Slashes Comms Costs with IP Telephony at Frontline Group

Frontline Group, a Peterborough, UK-based magazine distributor managing more than 160 titles, needed to replace its aging analogue Inter-Tel Axxess PBX as communications became unreliable and call costs kept rising across its 230-person operation. The company wanted a feature-rich, cost-effective VoIP system that could be installed quickly with no downtime, and evaluated alternatives like Cisco and Alcatel before choosing 3CX.

3CX implemented a VoIP/IP telephony solution that ran on existing hardware and software, quickly took over the company’s DECT handsets and 80 snom M65 IP phones, and required minimal training or administration. The result was a major reduction in calling costs through free interoffice calls and least-cost routing for PSTN traffic, plus improved resilience and reliability with no downtime and easy backup on VMware.
