3CX Phone System Provides Safety on the Austrian Slopes

Puchberger Mountain Rescue, part of the Austrian Mountain Rescue service, needed a better way to manage around-the-clock call forwarding for its volunteer squad leaders without paying double charges on incoming calls. They turned to 3CX Phone System, a software-based IP telephony solution, to improve reliability, reduce costs, and keep volunteers reachable at all times.

3CX implemented a solution combining 3CX Phone System with a beroNet gateway, SIP trunking, a backup analog/GSM line, and SMS messaging for rapid team alerts. With Yealink IP phones and 3CX softphone clients for Android and iOS, the rescue team can now manage calls through the web-based 3CX Management Console and quickly contact all members in minutes, while also saving significantly on monthly call costs.
