Global Foundries faced the challenge of gaining more detailed and accurate visibility into lot-level manufacturing costs across its eight fabrication facilities. By working with 3C Software and its ImpactECS solution, the company needed a way to better track standard and actual costs, improve variance analysis, and support inventory valuation and month-end close processes.

3C Software implemented ImpactECS to calculate recipe and work-flow costs from MES data and actual expenses, load daily inventory valuations for reporting, and automate monthly journal entries into Oracle ERP. As a result, Global Foundries gained lot-level cost visibility across all eight fabs, improved cost accuracy and detail, strengthened variance analysis, and streamlined inventory and financial close reporting.
