Content Delivery Network Company - Customer Case Study

The CDNC, a leading content delivery network with over 175,000 servers across 100+ countries and responsible for 15–30% of Internet traffic, faced a cost and performance challenge as Bright House prepared to roll out 300 Mbps broadband. Forecasted traffic growth threatened to require multiple costly 100G circuits via Time Warner to reach Tampa, so Bright House and Time Warner asked the CDNC to establish a local POP in 365 Data Centers’ Tampa facility to reduce latency, lower connectivity costs, and meet strict uptime, security, and proximity requirements.

The CDNC deployed a private cage in 365’s Tampa data center delivering 180 Gbps of edge capacity (≈10 Gbps per rack, ~3 kW per rack) and interconnected directly to Bright House. The move avoided multiple 100G waves, lowered connectivity costs for Bright House and Time Warner, and improved user experience in the Tampa/Orlando region; traffic doubled from 180 Gbps to 360 Gbps within months and capacity grew 50% (an added 100 Gbps) within ten months.
