ZoneAlarm Protects Global Revenue Through CRO Project

ZoneAlarm, the consumer security brand of Check Point Software Technologies, partnered with 2Checkout (now Verifone) to address a checkout experience challenge: while ZoneAlarm used a global cart flow that included a review page, platform data suggested top markets (US, Germany, Canada, UK) often prefer a shorter flow without a review page. The objective was to test whether customizing the cart flow by country would improve conversion rates and revenue per visitor (RPV) without harming the customer experience.

2Checkout ran an A/B test comparing ZoneAlarm’s Control (checkout → review → thank you) against a Variation that removed the review page. The Control outperformed the Variation globally, delivering a 22% higher conversion rate and 42% higher RPV, with strong local lifts (USA +22%, Germany +35%, Canada +30%). The test prevented potential revenue loss, produced an 8x ROI from 2Checkout’s CRO services, and led to the recommendation to retain the review-page flow while continuing optimization.
