How Kaspersky Lab Increased Sales by over 20% with In-App Purchasing

Kaspersky Lab, a global leader in endpoint protection, partnered with Avangate to improve its online shopping experience and boost renewals and conversions across emerging markets. The challenge was to optimize customer touchpoints—localizing stores for currency, payment methods and regulations—and introduce frictionless in‑app purchasing to make it easy for users to renew, upgrade or convert trials directly from the application.

Using Avangate Enterprise Edition, Kaspersky launched in‑app purchasing flows for renewal, renewal & upgrade, trial conversion and trial+upgrade, starting in African markets. Active in‑app campaigns and continuous optimization produced strong results: some countries saw in‑app revenue contribute over 20% of total sales, conversion rates doubled within six months, retention improved, and the program was rolled out to additional markets including the Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey.
