HMA by Avast, a subscription-based VPN provider, needed to reduce customer churn in a highly competitive market. The company turned to 2Checkout’s (now Verifone) Avangate Monetization Platform to strengthen retention and recover at-risk revenue.
Using churn-prevention, unfinished-payments recovery and auto-renewal enrollment campaigns, HMA achieved a 22% voluntary churn recovery rate on longer plans (8% on monthly plans), a 7% conversion rate on unfinished auto-recurring payments (equating to ~4% recovered revenue), and a 5% conversion to auto-renewal enrollment. Overall, these measures materially improved subscription retention and revenue recovery.
