Bandera Electric Cooperative qualifies 29,000-member ADER for ERCOT with 27Global

Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC), a Texas-based utility, sought to leverage its aggregated distributed energy resources (ADER) to participate in the ERCOT wholesale power market. Their challenge was to meet ERCOT's stringent real-time requirements for communication and control, which required a robust energy management solution. They partnered with vendor 27Global to develop this advanced capability through their Apolloware platform.

27Global designed and built a scalable Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) using AWS services, Apache Flink, and real-time data streaming. The solution successfully qualified BEC's ADER to participate in ERCOT's real-time energy market and Contingency Reserve Service. This achievement provided significant economic and operational benefits for the cooperative and established a flexible foundation for future expansion.
