A 2600Hz Case Study
2600Hz, a San Francisco-based provider of the KAZOO cloud communications platform, needed to protect customers like Flowroute from the growing risk of IP-based telecom fraud as VoIP adoption increased. Flowroute, a pure SIP trunking provider and FCC-certified CLEC, was used by 2600Hz for international traffic through its hosted offering, but both companies needed stronger fraud controls to safeguard call traffic and customer experience.
To address this, 2600Hz partnered with Flowroute and used Flowroute’s Managed Portal fraud-prevention features, including outbound rate limits, destination whitelists, and IP-based authentication. Flowroute also monitored network traffic for unusual patterns and could temporarily disable compromised accounts to limit losses. The result was a more secure, carrier-grade communications experience for 2600Hz customers, with reduced exposure to fraud and faster response to suspicious activity.
