Danish fiber provider Waoo takes aggregator role with addition of Android TV STBs

Waoo, a Danish fiber and pay-TV provider, needed to innovate and differentiate its TV service in a competitive, commoditized market. Their challenge was to offer a modern, flexible, and aggregated content experience to their subscribers. To achieve this, they partnered with 24i, leveraging its platform for content management, UX, and entitlements across devices.

The solution from 24i included the development of a custom Android TV Operator Tier experience with a bespoke launcher, unifying live TV, a VOD store, and streaming apps like Disney+ into a single media hub. This was complemented by 24i’s Unified Search to simplify content discovery across all sources. The results provided Waoo’s customers with unparalleled choice and convenience, including a self-service channel store and the ability to add subscription costs to their Waoo bill, while offloading platform maintenance to Google.
