MPLS Downtown Improvement District Achieves 80% Participation Rate for Super Bowl Lii Security Checks with 24/7 Software

The Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (DID) is a business-led nonprofit dedicated to making downtown Minneapolis vibrant and safe. Director of Safety Initiatives Shane Zahn faced a lack of software to coordinate street outreach and partner organizations, needing better real-time communication, collaboration, and analytics—especially for large events such as Super Bowl LII.

By deploying 24/7 Software’s Communicator App and incident management platform, DID standardized outreach, improved situational awareness, and captured actionable analytics (8,134 service calls in 2017). During Super Bowl LII the platform coordinated 70+ building security teams to complete 2,072 security checks with an average 80% participation rate, produced 55 suspicious-activity reports (73% responded to by law enforcement), and strengthened multi-agency coordination.
