Indiana State Fair Commission Saves 92.5 Hours Managing Incidents With 24/7 Software

The Indiana State Fair Commission, which manages a 250‑acre event campus and handles dozens of incidents (including 75–100 vehicle accidents) each year, struggled with an outdated, non‑mobile incident tracking system. Security officers had to write paper reports, return to the office to type them in and upload photos, and lacked true dispatch integration, customizable reporting, or the ability to track incidents from initial call to final report during its 16‑hour daily operations and the 17‑day State Fair.

The Commission implemented 24/7 Software’s Incident Management System and TrackPad iPad app, enabling real‑time dispatching, customizable electronic reports in the field, driver’s license scanning, event grouping and a color‑coded dispatch view. The change improved data accuracy, made Coliseum command paperless, and freed staff time—saving an estimated 15 minutes per report (370 reports in 2017 → 92.5 hours saved), achieving 90% completion on 106 tracked housekeeping calls in 2018, and allowing officers to spend more time patrolling and assisting guests.
