Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland automates millions of geospatial features with 1Spatial

Ordnance Survey Northern Ireland (OSNI) faced a challenge in joining up land and property data across government after its merger into the Land and Property Service (LPS). Legacy systems held valuable data in isolation, preventing sharing and interoperability. OSNI worked with 1Spatial to implement a solution using the 1Spatial Management Suite (1SMS).

The solution centered on OSNI's Fusion object-based model, which creates unique spatial identifiers for features. 1Spatial's 1SMS provided a fully automated workflow to manage changes using these identifiers. This created an integrated geospatial framework that allows different government systems to communicate, automating processes, reducing errors, and keeping all relevant users informed of changes across the joined-up systems.
