Case Study: Ordnance Survey Ireland achieves faster, more current spatial data with 1Spatial

Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSi), Ireland’s national mapping authority, needed a faster and more efficient way to maintain and publish highly accurate spatial data as demand grew for timely, reliable geographic information. Working with 1Spatial, OSi moved away from traditional map-sheet updates toward a real-world, object-oriented digital model of the landscape, supported by the 1Spatial Management Suite (1SMS).

1Spatial implemented automation and rules-based workflows to manage OSi’s PRIME2 database, validating data in the field and again in the office before it entered the core system. The result was a major boost in quality and efficiency: tasks that previously took weeks or two weeks can now be completed in a single day, conflicts are handled automatically or routed for expert resolution, and OSi can provide more current, standards-compliant data that supports better decision-making and future-proofs the organisation.
