How ClickUp’s switch to 1Password helped them gain security oversight

ClickUp, the productivity platform used by millions of users, needed better visibility and control over password management as it scaled quickly. Its previous password solution lacked central control, policy enforcement, and reliable recovery, creating security and IT challenges for ClickUp’s team. To address this, ClickUp chose 1Password Business to support its security and compliance needs, including SOC 2 Type 2 requirements, MFA enforcement, and automated account provisioning.

With 1Password, ClickUp rolled out automated provisioning with Okta, used the SCIM bridge and Unlock with Okta, and gained centralized administration, insights, and audit capabilities. The implementation moved about 1,000 employees from the old solution in 30 days, reduced IT password reset requests by 66%, and gave the security team stronger oversight of access and credential health.
