A 1E Case Study

Preview of the Verizon Wireless Case Study

Verizon wireless commits to a greener future and saves $1.3 million per year

Verizon Wireless, the largest US wireless operator serving 65.7 million customers, wanted to reduce energy use across its extensive PC estate without compromising performance or reliability. The company needed a solution to improve power management in its call centers and corporate desktops while maintaining successful patching and software delivery.

Verizon deployed 1E’s NightWatchman on 63,000 managed desktops (part of an 88,000 PC infrastructure), using WakeUp for reliable patch deployment and automated shutdowns to cut power. The rollout reduced PC power consumption and CO2 emissions by 24%, saved about $1.3 million per year and roughly 7,700 tons of CO2 annually, with no disruption to performance.
