US Bank Holding Company achieves Federal compliance requirements thanks to Nomad, Shopping and AppClarity

A US bank holding company with about 12,500 employees and more than 15 million customers worldwide needed to rapidly build and migrate banking deployment systems while meeting federal migration mandates tied to a government bailout. IBM’s manual migration processes couldn’t meet the required thresholds, and the IT team also faced time-consuming manual identification and installation of applications after OS migration.

Building on an existing deployment of Nomad and 1E WakeUp, the bank added 11,500 seats of AppClarity and Shopping to map applications and fully automate a Windows 7 upgrade and app deployment via OSD based on usage. The solution met federal compliance targets, fully automated the migration, and delivered over $1.5M in immediate savings with an expected $600K in annual ongoing savings.
