Arup saves $1 million in software costs

Arup, an independent engineering and design firm with about 10,000 employees, needed a faster, automated way for staff to request and install software without tying up the helpdesk. The challenge was to give users a simple, self-service experience that reduced wait times, cut unnecessary licensing spend and freed the IT team for core tasks.

Arup deployed 1E Shopping, an enterprise app store that lets users see costs, request approvals when needed, and install or reinstall software within minutes. Branded to Arup’s look and feel, the self-service model enabled license reclamation and reduced helpdesk workload, delivering $1.16M in savings over two years, processing 148,137 installs and eliminating more than 37,000 man-hours.
