Bacardi, the global spirits company with around 130 locations across six continents, relied on a managed service provider to run its desktop lifecycle tools (1E Nomad and Shopping with Microsoft SCCM). With Windows 10 on the horizon, the IT team wanted to bring infrastructure management in‑house to reduce costs, increase agility and accelerate deployments without disrupting the business.

Working with 1E, Bacardi migrated the solution in‑house, updated SCCM and leveraged Nomad’s peer‑to‑peer distribution, PXE Lite and the Shopping app store to deliver images, patches and applications. The move cut Nomad secondary servers from 27 to 5, reduced WAN load, sped up app requests and patching, enabled a faster Windows 10 rollout and delivered significant cost and operational gains.
