NorthConnex Update Tackling a Data Tsunami

NorthConnex, the Sydney road tunnel project building Australia’s longest and deepest tunnelled motorway, faced a major data management challenge as surveying, design and construction generated a huge volume of files, changes and attributes under tight time, cost and quality pressures. The project used 12d Synergy to help manage this “data tsunami” alongside 12d Model.

12d Synergy was used to reduce and control project data, cutting an example 8.2 GB project down to 1.3 GB, reducing data by more than 80%. It skipped five million duplicates, exported 180 million attributes, and reduced file transfer time from 13 minutes to 2 minutes, helping NorthConnex deliver a successful, cost-effective, high-quality project within tight timeframes.
