NorthConnex, the 9-kilometer twin motorway tunnel project, faced a rapidly growing volume of survey and as-built data, with millions of attributes attached to tunnel vertices. As construction progressed, the team needed a better way to handle large 12d Model files, produce plots quickly, and manage data securely. The project used 12d Synergy as a common data environment and document management platform.

12d Synergy helped automate and standardize PDF plot production from survey data using custom macros in 12d Model, while also organizing outputs for QA and securely managing large attribute datasets. By exporting attributes to server files and replacing them with links, 12d Synergy reduced one project file from 8.2 GB to 1.3 GB and cut download time from 13 minutes to 2 minutes, improving efficiency and freeing the team to focus on other critical work.
