12d Synergy Enables Civil BIM on the M1 to M3 Project for Jacobs

Jacobs used 12d Synergy to support civil BIM delivery on the M1/M3/Gateway Motorway upgrade in Brisbane, a $190m project for Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads. The challenge was to apply BIM workflows to a conventional highway project while meeting tight deadlines and budget, all while managing complex design data across multiple locations and disciplines.

12d Synergy provided Jacobs with a common data environment and a single source of truth for all working data, helping improve data integrity, version control, and collaboration. The team published documents directly to TMR through Lendlease’s document control process and used web drops for large file transfers, while designers worked flexibly from Brisbane, Cairns, Hobart, and Sydney. As a result, 12d Synergy enabled Jacobs to improve productivity, reduce burn out, and establish a reusable BIM working environment for all 12d Model projects.
