Shankland Cox, a design and engineering firm, was appointed by Aldar to develop a large-scale leisure destination on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Their challenge was to design and supervise construction for a massive project that included a retail mall, hotels, multi-storey car parks, and extensive infrastructure. 12d Solutions provided the 12d Model software to support this complex civil design work.

Using 12d Solutions' technology, Shankland Cox successfully completed the design and construction supervision for several key project phases, including the multi-storey car parks, welcome pavilion, site enabling works, and infrastructure. The project was partially completed, with a built-up area of over 300,000 m² for the retail mall phase achieved before the development was reconsidered due to the global economic climate.
