Mayer Brown Ltd - Customer Case Study

The customer, Mayer Brown Ltd, an independent transport consultancy, faced the significant challenge of designing a new roundabout to alleviate severe traffic congestion at the Oxford bypass bottleneck. The project required re-aligning existing roads and a roundabout while being constrained by a railway overpass and the need to retain the existing drainage network, all while adhering to strict UK design standards (DMRB). Vendor 12d Solutions provided its 12d Model software to tackle this complex design.

Using 12d Model, Mayer Brown implemented a solution that utilized superalignments, modifiers, and forced break superalignments to create a compliant and efficient design. This approach allowed for the management of complex vertical alignments, cambers, and drainage integration. The result was an efficient delivery of the design, which was further assisted by the use of chains to accommodate late changes and aided in the final visualization of the project.
