The project required assessing over 30 potential routes through rugged terrain with highly variable geology, necessitating a robust and fast method to create and compare alignments with accurate earthworks modeling for a multi-criteria analysis. They utilized the 12d Model software from 12d Solutions for this complex roads and highways design task.

12d Solutions implemented a solution by enhancing their software's decisional templates with spatial awareness. This innovation allowed batter profiles to automatically adapt to the different geological terrain systems along each alignment, drastically speeding up the initial design and fine-tuning process. The completed routes, documented directly from 12d Model, enabled thorough analysis and helped lead to the announcement of a preferred route, contributing to future benefits like reduced congestion and improved economic development.
