The Queensland Department of Transport & Main Roads undertook a project to upgrade a 12-kilometer section of the Kennedy Highway, which travels through the environmentally sensitive Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. The department utilized 12d Solutions' 12d Model software for the project's preliminary and concept design phases.

12d Solutions provided the 12d Model software, which was used to create a highly detailed and realistic virtual model of the new highway design. This included modelling the alignment, 28 bridges, roadside barriers, and vegetation to produce virtual fly-over and drive-through visualizations for the entire route. The solution enabled the customer to effectively visualize the final project outcome and the anticipated environmental regrowth.
