Cardno (Qld) Pty Ltd - Customer Case Study

The customer, Cardno (Qld) Pty Ltd, faced a significant challenge designing a residential subdivision on hilly terrain with a deep gully for the Hill Close Estate. The project required creating lots with a maximum slope of 1:20 on natural slopes averaging 1:4, while ensuring any retaining walls did not exceed 1.5 meters in height. To overcome this, they utilized the 12d Model software from 12d Solutions for subdivision design.

12d Solutions provided the solution by enabling the Cardno team to terrace the lots around sizable building pads. Using the Create/grade pads and Edit/grade pads functions within 12d Model, which they had not used extensively before, they could efficiently grade pads in specific directions and compare them against road levels and adjoining lots to ensure all wall heights remained under the 1.5m limit. The result was the successful creation of a vibrant community with smartly designed homes, meeting all the project's stringent design specifications.
