Bland & Jackson Surveyors Ltd faced a challenge while designing a multi-stage urban subdivision for the Fernbrook Development in New Plymouth. The project required an access road through challenging terrain with site constraints including a reduced-width carriageway, large cut and fill batters near a creek, and a utility pole that had to remain in place. The Territorial Authority was concerned the design would not work, so Bland & Jackson used 12d Solutions' 12d Model surveying and design software to create a solution.

12d Solutions provided a 3D visualisation with a 'drive through' option to demonstrate the design. This visual presentation alleviated the council's concerns about the road transition and the impact on the batters, clearly showing the design would be effective. As a result, 12d Solutions' tools were instrumental in helping Bland & Jackson gain council approval for the design and build client confidence in their ability to perform the complex work.
