Baseline Group was facing a time-consuming challenge in creating easements for overhead power lines in Canterbury, New Zealand. The surveying process for power poles and their anchoring stays was complex and involved lengthy manual calculations to plot easement lines and input data into a Landonline traverse spreadsheet. This was complicated by inconsistent field data collection methods from their surveyors.

12d Solutions developed a custom macro that automated the calculations for creating the necessary easement strings. The macro processed the field data to generate centerlines, calculate offsets, split lines at property boundaries, and assign unique identifiers to all vertices.
