Preview of the City of Fresno Case Study

City of Fresno completes LCRI inventory on time with 120Water, reaching effectively non-lead status

The City of Fresno faced a significant challenge in meeting Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) requirements, inheriting a backlog with no dedicated staff and incomplete historical records stored on paper and in retired legacy systems. To address this, the city partnered with 120Water to undertake the massive data collection and service line verification effort.

120Water provided a stratified random sampling approach and integrated routing software, which allowed Fresno's field crews to verify service lines efficiently. The vendor also worked directly with the state to unblock data submission and built a public-facing portal for service line status. This partnership resulted in the city's system being verified as effectively lead-free, with its LCRR inventory submitted on time. Fresno is now proactively addressing future mandates, and Chad Colby highlights the streamlined process and ongoing support from 120Water as key to their success.
