Caldwell identifies 18,223 non-lead service lines with 120Water

The city of Caldwell, Idaho partnered with 120Water to address the challenge of building a compliant inventory of its water service lines. With nearly 26,000 service lines in question, the city needed to accurately identify lead-containing lines and significantly reduce the number of lines classified as "unknown" in order to prioritize public health and meet regulatory requirements.

120Water implemented a solution that integrated existing city data with a proactive resident outreach strategy. This included creating an online survey for streamlined participation and conducting door-to-door visits, phone calls, and social media engagement to maximize response rates. As a result of this partnership with 120Water, Caldwell identified 18,223 non-lead service lines, providing a much clearer understanding of its infrastructure and significantly reducing unknowns to strengthen public health protection and ensure compliance.
