Oceanscan navigates ransomware scare with iland, now 11:11 Systems

Oceanscan, a global equipment and services provider for the oil & gas and related industries, was hit in September 2021 by a sophisticated ransomware strain that encrypted large parts of its network and threatened business continuity. With pressure on the IT team to restore access and limit downtime, Oceanscan relied on its long-term partner iland (now 11:11 Systems) to mount an immediate response.

Because Oceanscan already had 11:11 Cloud DRaaS for Veeam and Cloud Backup in place, the team was able to fail over to the provider’s DRaaS environment, recover operations quickly, and then migrate fully to 11:11 IaaS within hours. The move delivered uninterrupted data availability, removed on‑premises capital expenditure, provided platform flexibility, and established an ongoing partnership focused on further resilience measures such as cloud-to-cloud backup.
