University of York saves money and boosts desktop delivery with 10ZiG

The University of York needed to deliver an IT service that offered increased desktop control and a consistent user experience while significantly reducing its carbon footprint, all with minimal disruption to existing users. To meet this challenge, the university partnered with 10ZiG to implement a VDI solution using 10ZiG 5872v Thin Clients and Quest vWorkspace software.

10ZiG implemented its Linux-based Thin Clients, which provided seamless integration, great performance with Quest vWorkspace, and savings on licensing costs. The solution resulted in overwhelmingly positive user feedback, with 99% of students unaware they were using thin clients. The university achieved improved desktop delivery speed, easier management, a reduced carbon footprint due to the Energy Star-rated devices, and significant cost savings when replacing old PCs.
