Tokio Millennium Re (UK) Ltd (TMRUK), based in the iconic 20 Fenchurch Street, needed to replace a fleet of five- to six-year-old PCs during an office move. The aging desktops were slow, bulky and time-consuming to maintain—causing frequent IT support for PXE, graphics, memory and disk issues—while the business required a reliable, easy-to-manage, and attractive workspace that supported Microsoft Lync’s Windows-only plugin.

TMRUK deployed VMware Horizon VDI with 10ZiG Windows Embedded Thin Clients mounted under desks and configured in kiosk mode, using 10ZiG Manager and custom OS images. The upgradeable hardware and centralized golden images cut desktop rollout time from about half a day to roughly 30 minutes, simplified management and remote monitoring, delivered a “zero‑client” user experience, and produced positive user feedback and faster hardware replacement.
