A 10ZiG Case Study
South Bromsgrove High School, a 1,300‑pupil school that provisions around 1,200 desktops, faced ageing PCs and a significant IT budget cut. The IT team needed an economical, scalable way to replace machines while maintaining a consistent user experience; trials of mainstream VDI solutions failed to meet their cost targets.
The school deployed Citrix VDI‑in‑a‑Box (VIAB) with 10ZiG HDX Linux Thin Clients, enabling fast rollouts and simple central management with 10ZiG Manager. They replaced 75 PCs and added 32 extra workstations under budget, cut desktop support, reduced power use from ~60–80W to 8–12W per device, and projected savings of £576,000 over ten years while preserving access for all students and staff.
