QHotels standardizes 470 desktops across 22 sites with 10ZiG

QHotels, a UK hotel group with 21 properties, faced significant IT management challenges after a major data center upgrade. With a diverse fleet of 470 aging PCs across 22 sites, they lacked remote visibility and control, forcing engineers to make costly site visits for routine tasks. They needed a hardware-agnostic desktop solution to streamline application delivery and manage their transition from PCs. They turned to vendor 10ZiG for a solution involving their NoTouch PC repurposing tool and thin client devices.

10ZiG provided a cross-platform solution, repurposing existing PCs with NoTouch for centralized management and deploying new 10ZiG Linux and Windows thin clients as replacements. This gave QHotels full remote visibility and control over their desktops, drastically reducing site visits and enabling easy, remote deployment of new units. The solution standardized their hardware, provided a uniform user experience, and is expected to yield significant future energy savings, with thin clients using only 12 watts compared to the 50-100 watts of the old PCs. QHotels has made 10ZiG thin clients their company standard for all future desktop replacements.
