QHotels - Customer Case Study

QHotels, a group of 21 four‑star hotels with over 2,900 bedrooms and multiple industry awards, had invested £600,000 upgrading their data centre and Citrix environment (XenApp 6.5). They faced a fragmented desktop estate—around 470 PCs across 22 sites, 30–40 different PC models, limited remote visibility, costly engineer site visits, and insufficient budget to replace all machines at once—so needed a hardware‑agnostic, centrally managed desktop solution to deliver a consistent user experience and fully leverage their XenApp investment.

QHotels implemented 10ZiG’s NoTouch PC repurposing tool and deployed 10ZiG Linux and Windows Thin Clients, repurposing 308 PCs and adding ~150 thin clients as company standard devices. The rollout gave centralised management and remote deployment, eliminated many site visits, delivered a uniform user experience, reduced power consumption (PCs 50–100W vs thin clients ~12W), and set a clear path to phase out remaining PCs while improving support and device longevity.
