WP Engine builds an intranet for 1,000+ employees with 10up

The customer, WP Engine, a leading managed WordPress hosting provider, faced significant internal communication challenges amplified by the shift to remote work at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their documentation was fragmented, and they lacked a centralized hub for company-wide content, leading to a reliance on tribal knowledge. To address this, WP Engine partnered with the vendor, 10up, to envision and build a new company intranet named Enginet.

10up designed and engineered a WordPress-powered intranet on WP Engine's own platform. The solution, built using 10up's ElasticPress technology for search, integrated with existing business tools like Okta for single sign-on and automated user management. A key feature was a block-based editing experience that empowered employees to easily update content. The resulting Enginet intranet successfully created a centralized communications hub for over one thousand global employees, improving information discovery and aligning the internal platform with the company's culture.
