The City of Kirkland moves critical systems to the cloud

The City of Kirkland, Washington worked with 10th Magnitude, in partnership with Point B, to develop a cloud vision and roadmap as part of a broader IT assessment. Using data from Movere, hands-on workshops, and 10th Magnitude’s 10vu™ framework, the team assessed how to move critical systems to Microsoft Azure while balancing cost, feasibility, and technical requirements.

10th Magnitude implemented a 10vu™ assessment and technical workshops to build an Azure datacenter structure that proved the city could run applications and GIS workloads in the cloud. The work helped the City of Kirkland make strategic migration decisions, validate disaster recovery with Azure Site Recovery for systems remaining on-premise, and prepare templated components and enhanced monitoring for future cloud deployments.
