World and Main, a national distributor grown through multiple acquisitions since 1971, faced a fragmented EDI environment that couldn’t scale with its five U.S. distribution centers, 75,000 SKUs and supplier network across 35 countries. Its legacy EasyLink solution was costly, difficult to map and integrate with the company’s IBM AS/400 ERP, and daily EDI processing and error visibility had become untenable.

The company implemented EDI HQ, an on-site solution from 1 EDI Source, gaining full control of inbound/outbound data, AS2 transfer capabilities, and the ability to manage EDI internally. The switch eliminated conversion costs, doubled partners and transactions, enabled new transaction types (including POS data for reordering and sales insights), improved ASN timeliness and error handling, and delivered significant cost savings and a tenfold improvement in service.
